Informed real time-overview
Real-Time LCA collects information directly from the BIM model, Excel or manual entries and provides an overview and history of all the environmental data of the building. You get history, documentation and reporting options for every step of the design process, and in accordance with public requirements, certification schemes, etc.
Sustainable and resource-saving
While saving you time and resources, you also get concrete suggestions for improving the climate footprint of your construction project. Selected environmental data about materials, directly linked to the design and environmental impact, is automatically updated as the design develops.
You get access to an extensive library containing thousands of building materials with environmental product declarations that can easily be compared with full traceability to the sources.
Key terms to know:
What is LCA?
LCA stands for "Life Cycle Assessment". LCA is a comprehensive assessment of the environmental impact and resource consumption of, for example, a building - both during construction and subsequent operation.
What is LCA-calculations?
The CO₂ limit values have been tightened significantly, and they are now differentiated according to building type — including detached houses. Previously, it was a time-consuming and error-prone process that required a lot of manual input and only provided snapshots along the way. Real-Time LCA completely changes that.
What is CO2e?
CO2e is the abbreviation for CO2 equivalents. CO2e is used in climate calculations and takes into account the existence of other greenhouse gases besides carbon dioxide (CO2) (e.g., methane and nitrous oxide) and provides a common unit of measurement for all greenhouse gases.
Real-Time LCA is for:
Architects
Advantages for architects:
By simply installing a plugin, you can run your design and modeling process as usual, while gaining quick insight into the environmental footprint of materials and structures. Real-Time LCA also ensures efficient work with LCA in collaboration with all project participants and enables management of the carbon budget throughout the project's lifetime.
Engineers
Benefits for Engineers:
Unchanged design and modeling process or workflows. You get an updated communication basis with project participants throughout the project process, while reducing the process time for LCA calculations by 90%.
Builders
Benefits for Builders
Quickly gain insight into the climate impact of your construction and gain a solid basis for decision-making. You can feel secure regarding legislation and internal requirements from the organisation, investors or other parties. In addition, you get concrete recommendations for your advisory team and improved collaboration among project participants, all directly on the platform.
Contractors
Advantages for Contractors
Get a solid basis for the dialogue with the builders and advisors about goals, progress, CO2 and finances. You can manage your CO2 budget against agreed goals throughout the project's lifetime and receive concrete recommendations. There is also the possibility to optimize premium mechanisms and tax reductions.
