Connie Hedegaard started our day by providing a high-level perspective on sustainability and climate change, as well as how sustainability will impact and transform businesses based on her long and vast experience. As EU Commissioner, she led the negotiations towards the adoption of the EU 2030 Climate and Energy Framework and was also responsible for the 2050 Roadmap for moving to a low carbon economy. Today, Connie Hedegaard holds several key positions in support of a low-carbon and green economy, working with various stakeholders across private and public organizations.

Morgan Börjesson is an expert in Circular Economy and Ecodesign, driven by a mission to transform business sustainability practices across Europe. Morgan equips companies to not only meet emerging regulations but to build resilient, future-proof strategies for a circular economy. One of his core focuses is the Digital Product Passport - a groundbreaking tool designed to enhance transparency around materials, production processes, and recyclability. Flood Hazard Analysis with InfoWorks ICM: a Case Study in Germany

Extreme weather events, such as heavy rainfall, are becoming more frequent, increasing flood risks and highlighting the need for climate resilience. This session presents a flash flood hazard analysis for the German city of Frechen using Autodesk InfoWorks ICM. A 2D hydrodynamic model was calibrated with BKG hazard maps and validated against the July 2021 flood event, achieving high accuracy. The analysis demonstrates InfoWorks ICM's efficiency, short computation times, and its value in climate-conscious planning.

Design professionals face challenges managing sustainability data, including LCA and LEED calculations. This process is often time-consuming and complex due to a lack of integrated tools. TEKNE S.p.A. addresses this by automating LEED credit calculations through BIM and scripting. This optimization has saved 1,000 administrative hours—now reinvested in developing more efficient solutions—while significantly reducing waste, improving production accuracy, and minimizing transportation through precise planning. ITK Envifront exemplifies how digitalization can deliver both business success and sustainability.

How 3D Laser Scanning Facilitates Sustainable Building Renovation

With increasing demands for recycling and reuse of building materials, 3D laser scanning offers a systematic approach to renovation and demolition by enabling “Scan to BIM to Twin” workflows. It enables the identification of reusable resources, while addressing challenges like hazardous materials and regulatory requirements. By visually mapping structures, 3D scanning helps unlock the potential for giving materials a second life in new construction projects.

Skygard: A Greener Building through Prefabricated HVAC Solutions and Material Optimization

Join COWI AS as they share insights from their role as design consultants for the Skygard project. COWI is responsible for designing the technical installations and has opted to use prefabricated solutions for the design of the data center's heating and cooling systems. Global Baggage Handling Systems: From Scan to Model with Speed and Precision

Discover how BEUMER Group leverages 3D scanning to streamline the installation and expansion of baggage handling systems worldwide. Using high precision scanners, they deliver precise measurements rapidly, reducing errors, waste, and rework. With workflows in Navisworks, AutoCAD and ReCap, they enable fast data access across departments, through all phases of delivering a state of the art baggage handling systems world wide. With high precision scanner, BEUMER can capture valuable information of the full project to ensure more precise planning and thereby lowering material waste.
