About the Course:

This hands-on course covers the essentials of AutoCAD^® Civil 3D^®  2024 software for Road Overlay Design for experienced Civil 3D Road Design users, including examples of both urban and rural rehabilitation.

Objectives:

The primary objective of the course is to familiarize students with the concepts and application of the functions of AutoCAD Civil 3D as they apply to Road Overlay Design. After completing this course, students should be able to:

• Create Rural Road Overlays
• Create Urban Road Overlays
• Calculate corridor volumes and quantities
• Create construction drawings
• Create setting out data

Road Overlay Design

• Overlay for a rural crowned road
• Urban overlay tying into existing footpaths and kerbs

Sharing Data

• Calculate corridor volumes and quantities
• Create, construction drawings
• Create setting out data

Who Should Attend:

Civil Engineers, technicians or draughting personnel working with AutoCAD or Civil 3D and involved with road design.

Prerequisites:

Students should have a good working knowledge and experience of AutoCAD Civil 3D Road Design and have a good understanding of Civil engineering and surveying principles for road and site design.

Implementation:

The course will take place with a maximum number of 8 participants, online on Zoom.
