Course Overview
This course is a virtual class based on our classroom course. It will cover the basics of building information modelling and the tools for parametric MEP systems design and documentation. Delegates will learn the fundamental features of Revit MEP, and then progress through schematic design, system analysis and construction documentation before finishing with design visualisation.
Course Structure
The Revit MEP Essentials Online Course is structured into six modules, each designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of MEP systems design and implementation using Revit. This modular approach ensures learners can focus on specific areas, building a robust foundation before progressing to more advanced topics:
Who should attend
- MEP engineers seeking to enhance their skills in Revit.
- BIM professionals looking to specialise in MEP systems.
- Construction and project managers who aim to integrate MEP design into their workflows.
- Individuals seeking comprehensive training in HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems design.
- Architects and engineers interested in building information modelling (BIM) for improved project coordination.
Modules
- Explore the Revit user interface and learn to work with elements, families, and views. This session focuses on object visibility and 3D views.
- Project Setup - Set up a new project, configure view templates, define discipline settings, and coordinate linked projects. This session ensures a solid project foundation.
- Define and represent volumes, create zones, and perform building performance analysis. This session emphasises the importance of accurate volume representation.
- Learn to define heating and cooling information, calculate loads, and create HVAC systems. This session is crucial for designing efficient HVAC layouts.
- Interference Checks and Discipline Coordination - Run interference checks, manage multiple disciplines and linked files, and create detailed views. This session improves project coordination.
- Add annotations, dimensions, symbols, and text to create comprehensive sheets and title blocks. This session focuses on producing professional construction documentation.
