Who is Bluebeam Revu suitable for?

Bluebeam Revu is designed for

  • Architects and consulting engineers
  • Contractors and site managers
  • Project managers and tender managers
  • Professionals responsible for drawing review, measurement and documentation

Bluebeam Revu is particularly well suited for projects where PDF drawings form the basis for quantity take-offs, tender preparation and quality assurance. It supports teams who need to review shared drawing sets, carry out structured mark-ups during design review, manage revisions and record decisions clearly and consistently. This is especially relevant in workflows where PDF files are not simply stored but actively used as part of the project lifecycle.

No. Bluebeam Revu is used by both smaller companies and larger contractors.
Its value depends on how actively the organisation works with digital drawings, measurement and documentation.

Yes. Revu includes tools for accurate measurement directly within PDF drawings and can compile quantities across multiple documents.
It is often used as a basis for estimating and tender preparation.

Core functions can be adopted quickly. More advanced workflows, such as quantity take-off and customised tool sets, require a structured approach.
The scope of implementation depends on the size of the organisation and its working processes.

Bluebeam Revu works with PDF-based project material and is not a modelling tool.
It is used as a complement to design software and should form part of the organisation’s overall digital workflow.

Yes. Bluebeam Max initially integrates with Anthropic/Claude, using an industry-standard Model Context Protocol (MCP) technology. This means Max is designed to connect with other leading AI models as soon as desktop apps with local MCP server support are provided.

Yes, you do need to create a Claude account if you want to use one of the features in Max (Revu connected to AI via MCP). Although it can be the free subscription, a paid subscription of Claude is recommended by Bluebeam for best performance, capabilities, and experience.

There are other features in Max that will still deliver great value even without a Claude account if you do not want to create one.

You do not need to set up an integration between Revu and Claude.

  • Simply download and open the Claude desktop app.
  • Open the desired PDF in Revu.
  • Start telling Claude what to do, by beginning your prompt with "In the active PDF in Revu…".
